CaReCycle Research Group is an interdisciplinary research group committed to advancing sustainable materials and environmental technologies that contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more circular future. Our research brings together expertise in chemical engineering, materials science, environmental engineering, and sustainable resource management to address pressing global challenges related to water quality, industrial waste utilization, climate change, and low-carbon material development.
The name CaReCycle reflects our core philosophy, creating value through the sustainable circulation of materials while protecting natural resources and human health. We believe that industrial by-products and waste materials should not be regarded as liabilities but as valuable resources that can be transformed into high-performance functional materials through innovative engineering approaches.
Our research focuses on the design, synthesis, surface modification, characterization, and application of advanced materials for environmental remediation and sustainable infrastructure. Key research areas include adsorption technologies, microplastic removal, wastewater treatment, alkali-activated materials and geopolymers, circular economy, waste valorization, radiation shielding materials, and multifunctional composites.
A distinguishing feature of our research is the integration of fundamental material science with practical engineering applications. We investigate the relationships between composition, microstructure, surface chemistry, and performance to develop environmentally responsible materials with high efficiency, durability, and long-term sustainability.
CaReCycle actively promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and open scientific exchange. We work closely with universities, research institutes, industry partners, and governmental organizations to develop innovative solutions with scientific, environmental, and societal impact. Alongside research, we are dedicated to educating and mentoring the next generation of scientists and engineers through research-driven learning and international collaboration.
Through excellence in research, innovation, and education, CaReCycle Research Group aims to contribute to global efforts toward sustainable resource utilization, cleaner water systems, resilient infrastructure, and a circular economy.
